Chuck Howarth (CPCU) is president and founding partner of The Howarth Group, an insurance claim consulting firm based just outside Nashville, Tennessee. Along with his business partner, Denis Rowe (AIC, SPPA), they assist businesses and individuals throughout the Southeast in their property claims in order to obtain better settlements from their insurance companies.
Mr. Howarth has almost 35 years of experience in the insurance claims adjusting business. He started out working for State Farm and advanced to a management position responsible for training claims adjusters. After several years of learning the claims business from the inside at State Farm, Mr. Howarth decided that he would be much happier using the knowledge he gained to help policyholders navigate through the difficult claims process. After “jumping ship” almost 25 years ago he, along with Mr. Rowe, has been advocating for policyholders ever since.
Mr. Howarth and Mr. Rowe are licensed Kentucky and Tennessee public adjusters (along with several other southeastern states) and have acted as the Appraiser in the insurance appraisal process over a thousand times. Utilizing the “appraisal provision” has been a particularly effective tool for resolving claims in Alabama. (see "Appraisal").
Besides being a Rule-31 Supreme Court approved mediator in Tennessee, Mr. Howarth also has his AINS and CPCU degree from the Insurance Institute of America (now more commonly referred to as The Institute). He has been a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter since the mid 1980’s and is recognized as a qualified expert in insurance claims, having testified in numerous property loss cases in state and federal courts throughout the southeast.
Mr. Howarth has also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA) and is past president of both the Tennessee and Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters.
Mr. Rowe, who has achieved both AIC and SPPA credentials, resides in Franklin, Tennessee with his wife of 27 years (Nancy) and has two sons (Colin and Conor). He is actively involved in evangelism outreach with his church, is a booster for Pearl Cohn High School football team, volunteers in building homes with Habitat for Humanity and is a fan of the University of Tennessee football program. He is an avid reader and also enjoys playing golf and going hunting as time and the weather permits.
Mr. Howarth is originally from Florida and his wife of 35 years (Ann) is from North Carolina. They have four children ranging in age from 4 to 32 (Mark, Dori, Amy and Maddix). They are both active members of Long Hollow Baptist Church. He and his wife Ann served as directors of The Royal Family Kid’s Camp in middle Tennessee, a weeklong summer camp designed specifically for abused and neglected kids between the ages of 7 and 11. He is also a very experienced pilot and enjoys a round of golf whenever possible.
